Outreach
Committee Goal
To
promote and educate our congregation
on the
outreach programs so that
each
member of CCC will be motivated
to
directly participate in one or more of our ministries during the
year.
WHAT'S
GOING ON?
Special
Disciples Offering coming up on Pentecost Sunday, May 27.
This
offering goes to help new church starts. One of these new starts that
will benefit from these gifts is a church that will be in the Oak
Hill area. They will meet on Sunday evenings. Elliot Richmond, who is
part of the License Mentor Group that meets at CCC every month, will
lead this new fellowship. If you would like to participate as a
“seed
family”, please contact Lee Williams and she will put you in
touch
with Elliot. A seed family is a family who already belongs to a
disciples' church, but who agrees to attend the new fellowship until
the new church can build up their membership. Since the new
fellowship will meet on Sunday evenings, the seed family can still
participate fully in their home church.
Children's Clothes Closet: Jan McLendon and the Chi Rho
group have started to collect clothing (0-3 months to 10 years). The
closet area in the Parlor has been cleared and cleaned and is ready to
for the clothes. Remember, that excess clothing will be stored off
site. Once we have stocked our shelves, we will contact the school
district and get back on the list that schools use to call and locate
clothes for needy families. We appreciate Chi Rho's dedication to this
project.

Work Shop on Kids Hope USA: An
inspirational workshop on this awe inspiring ministry to elementary
school age children was presented in one of the work shops. Their
theme is “One child, one hour, one church, one

USA partners with Buckner Children and Family Services to mentor kids
and make miraculous changes happen for these children and their
families. A presentation is available for more information on this
worthwhile program.
*
Ministries Center at Koenig Lane CC: Rev.
Frank Goldsmith at Koenig Lane Christian Church is in the planning

Lee.
